The Craft Behind It

The Semi-Mount Guide

From choosing a silhouette to the final stone-setting appointment, here is what to expect when you build a piece around your own diamond or gemstone.

How Semi-Mount Settings Work
A semi-mount arrives fully cast, polished, and set with any accent stones, but its center is left open. Once you choose or send us your center diamond or gemstone, our in-house jewelers set it under a loupe and return the finished piece ready to wear.
Choosing Your Center Stone
Bring your own loose stone, select one from our lab-grown diamond collection, or ask us to source a natural stone to your specifications. We confirm carat weight and measurements against the setting before any work begins, so the fit is exact.
Ring Sizing
Most semi-mount rings can be sized up or down within two sizes without altering the setting's integrity. Have your ring size handy, or visit us for a complimentary measurement. We recommend a printable ring sizer if you are ordering remotely.
Metal Options & Care
Semi-mounts are offered in white gold, yellow gold, and platinum. Clean your setting with warm water and a soft brush, avoid harsh chemicals, and bring it in annually for a prong check and polish to keep it secure and radiant.
Certification & Setting Service
Every finished piece leaves our bench with a written appraisal, and certified stones ship with their original grading report. Our setting service typically takes seven to ten business days from stone confirmation to completion.
